BLOG 11 - June events

Howdy Rockers,

Winter has landed and the chill is in the air, great dancing weather to keep us all warm and the bones moving!

June is a big month for us with the Cooly rocks on Festival to kick off the month a number of Club members were lucky enough to go and their stories and photos were great the team got together and distributed our Retro Fest Postcard to loads of people. Cheers guys for your efforts.

A few of us got down to Club Taree and really enjoyed the night with Nightmoves. We are lucky enough to have this band joining us for Retro Fest on the Saturday festival day in the Auditorium which promises some great dancing.

Coming up we have Jimmy Dee back at Kendall this weekend June 13th for a foot stomping night – Jimmy puts on a full on high powered night, you will dance your socks off and have a ball.

If you would like to join is and need a lift ring Heather 0427823344 and we will make it happen.

Jimmy is also joining us for Retro Fest and he will be running our Chill down dance session on the Sunday in the Auditorium as well as Friday nights’ Rockhouse dance party in Paws lounge and Deejaying our Gala Ball so he will be a busy bee!

The Headliner for the month is our ROCK IT UP Dance Party with the fabulous MAINLINERS playing in the Auditorium at Panthers with DJ Dale supporting – Saturday June 27th.

This is our mid year Club Dance and we are thrilled to have the Mainliners along they have performed at Cooly Rocks on again this year and are really gaining momentum. We are very proud of the quality bands we are able to bring to the Mid Coast and all the Clubs join in and enjoy the events.

Retro Fest 2015 is really gathering momentum – the pin up comp has been launched as well as the tattoo comp and the events program will be released this month in more detail. So much happening and so much interest coming from all over – this is our first Retro Fest event and our Club is really putting out to make this a real success. Visit our website for all the updates

Our weekly classes as going very well – Our EZY STEPS beginners course is really delivering and the ever growing group of EZY STEP Dancers is getting out and about and enjoying their new dance skills socially. Our Wednesday Rockers social night has been a great opportunity for everyone to come together and have some fun, experiment with moves and really develop confidence in their dancing. No one is too inexperienced to join in – the more the merrier and you will always get a dance.

On a sadder note, we farewell our dear friend and Club Member this week – George Polubinski. For those of you who had the privilege of knowing George you will remember his kind nature, fun disposition and genuine personality.

George was a Club member for 5 years and contributed to our Club as a happy, generous dancer.

Rest in peace Sweet Man.

Till next time,

Happy Dancing!
