Howdy Rockers,

Club life has been rocketing along – we have landed our new Committee with our AGM held on Tuesday 6th October.

We had a high energy night full of happy dancers squeezing in some lesson time between voting and all the antics of counting and finalising. Congratulations members for your enthusiasm and support, we have farewelled our outgoing workers – a great year was had and we all enjoyed the many events and innovations along the way. Well done to our outgoing team. Our outgoing President Jodi has given 8 years of service to supporting our Club on Committee and we are very grateful for her wonderful input over that time.

Congratulations also to each and every member who nominated for a position on Committee, thankyou for making the decision to give of your time to develop our Club.

Our new Committee comprises: Heather Hickey – President, Heidi Bingham – Vice President, Janice Olgivie – Secretary,

Anne Elliott – Treasurer, and Allister Hunziker, Maree Lamb and Ross Cutrupi committee.

A busy and exciting year is ahead of us and there will be some great new innovations along the way.

If you have any good ideas or suggestions to improve our Club we would love to hear from you. Good ideas are gold and can have a great impact.

We are preparing for our last major event for the year – this year we are lucky to have 2 nights of fun and great dancing in store – Friday night Deejay Jimmy Dee will be rocking our socks off with his Rockhouse Party night in the Paws lounge this is a free night brought to us by Panthers, we are so lucky to have such incredible support from them.

Saturday night is our ALOHA HAWAII XMAS DANCE PARTY featuring Joey and the Boys from Rockin’ Jukebox and Deejay Jimmy Dee. Dress up and enjoy the party.

Chromefest weekend is held at The Entrance this year 23rd 24th & 25th October. This is a great festival weekend and many Port Macquarie Rockers go down to enjoy the smorgasbord of music, dancing, shopping and cars.

November 13th 14th 15th is the Cool Rockin Cats annual event – ROCKIN BY THE RIVER – this is always a great weekend and they have 2 really good bands – Friday night is JAKE RATTLE & ROLL and Saturday night MATCHBOX.

Get along and support our Sister Club they do a mighty job of hosting this weekend for everyone to enjoy.

We have been invited to participate in the Community Christmas Pageant night, we attended last year and had a lot of fun and showcased our Club along with many other great Community organisations.

If you are able we would love to have you join in we frock up in our Club Colours. We would love an old car or two so if you have one or know someone that would be great. Any ideas to make this a great spectacle will be appreciated.

This year we will be showcasing our Club, as well as Retrofest 2016 – We hope to have our lovely pin up winners as part of our display.

Our weekly Tuesday night classes have been going well, so many happy dancers all enjoying our EZY STEPS learners course. Steve has put in a great year with us and we are very fortunate to enjoy his great teaching and his fun loving personality.

As we progress we are developing our Level 3 & Level 4 Segments, so stay tuned as we roll out a few innovations to trial.

Your feedback is always valued and forms a strong part of what we do. Please always share your thoughts and ideas to assist us to deliver a first class learning environment.

Wednesday Rockers Social Night

This is a night where we can get creative and we have the scope to do more – if you have any thoughts please share and we will do out best to accommodate. Wednesdays are a great opportunity to get to know your fellow club members and form new friendships and we encourage you to join in. Your dancing will improve in leaps and bounds practising with each other and experimenting with our new moves.

Our famous car rally is generally held in the last quarter of the year, members love this event and we had a terrific time last year with the rally followed by a barbeque tea and a dance night with Mr Smooth – Bruce Moore out at the lovely old Telegraph Point Hall – it was a very hot day and we struggled with the heat in the hall.

This year we have had a very labour intensive year with our Fabulous RetroFest 2015 Launch, we have decided that we will run the car rally early next year to kick off our year’s acitvities and we will be fresh and ready to put together another FAMOUS CAR RALLY for everyone to enjoy.

Our membership is growing and we have a very diverse group of happy dancers it is important for us to each recognise that every individual has their own personal reasons for being a part of our Club and we all work together to ensure everyone’s dancing pleasure.

Until next time – HAPPY DANCING!
